Guide — Love Hotel Prices and How They Work
Last updated: September 19, 2026
Love hotel pricing can be a little confusing. This page explains the different rate plans, the factors that change the price, and the basic flow from check-in to payment. It also explains how to read the prices listed on JITSUNE.
1. What is a love hotel?
A love hotel is an accommodation you can use by the hour, whether for a short "rest" (a few hours) or an overnight stay (evening to the next morning). At most hotels, no membership or reservation is required, and the front desk is typically contactless — you choose a room on a vacancy panel and pay at an automated machine.
2. The rate plans (types of use)
Hotels use different names, but on JITSUNE we organize rates into the following four plan types.
| Short Stay | A short plan of roughly 1–2 hours, available at hotels that offer a shorter slot than a standard rest. |
|---|---|
| Rest | Use for a few hours. This is the most common short-time plan. |
| Service Time | A discounted longer-stay plan limited to specific days and time windows. The window during which you can check in is fixed. |
| Overnight | Use from evening until the next morning. The check-in start time is fixed. |
3. Factors that affect the price
- Day of week: prices differ between weekdays (e.g. Mon–Thu) and weekends (e.g. Fri, Sat, Sun, holidays and pre-holidays). JITSUNE lets you compare by day of week.
- Check-in time: the time you arrive changes which plans you can choose, how long you can stay, and your checkout time. The difference is especially large for service time and overnight plans, so please check the "Usage Time by Plan" table on each hotel's page.
- Room type: prices vary by room grade, from standard to suite. JITSUNE generally lists the price of the cheapest room.
- Extension fees: if you stay beyond the set time, an extension fee applies (the unit and amount vary by hotel).
4. Check-in and payment flow
- Choose an available room on the vacancy panel at the entrance or inside the hotel.
- Payment is usually made at a machine in the room or at an automated machine near the front desk.
- Payment methods include cash and credit cards (acceptance varies by hotel).
- By their nature, love hotels cannot be used by anyone under the age of 18.
5. How to read JITSUNE prices
- The prices listed are the official rates confirmed on each hotel's official website (the cheapest room, visitor rate).
- In the listings, the "usage time" and the "official price" are matching values taken from the same plan.
- We automatically check the official page once a week, and when a change is detected we confirm it before updating. Since some price tables are hard to detect automatically, we also record the verification date.
- Prices are the official rate as of the date we checked; the confirmation date is shown on each hotel's detail page. They do not guarantee the latest price, availability, or the lowest price. Please always check each hotel's official information before your visit. Listed prices include tax; note that some hotels may charge a separate service fee, extension fee, or peak-season surcharge.
- JITSUNE is a price comparison site; it does not handle bookings or payments. Please make reservations and payments through each hotel's official website or at the hotel.
6. Give it a try
On the home page you can compare prices by switching plan, day of week and area. To find a room you can check in to right now, "Available now" is handy.
